Woodbine Mansion: The Dream Wedding Venue in Austin (So Perfect I’m Having My Own Wedding Here)

Woodbine Mansion wedding venue with lush greenery

There are wedding venues... and then there’s Woodbine Mansion.

As a photographer who’s obsessed with texture, character, and charm—and someone who’s constantly on the lookout for beauty that tells a story—this place completely stole my heart. So much so, I’m having my own wedding here. That should tell you everything.

If you’re dreaming of a venue that feels like stepping into a painting—rich with history, glowing with light, layered in vintage details—Woodbine is your spot. It’s not just a venue. It’s an experience. It’s a vibe. It’s a full-on aesthetic love letter to couples who value art, architecture, and character.

A Mansion with a Story

Built in 1895 by the Nelson family, Swedish immigrants with an eye for Victorian elegance, this home is a love story in itself. Imagine a towering turret, stained glass windows, and ornate crown moulding. Then in 1931, the mansion’s exterior was updated with classical revival architecture—hello, grand white pillars—and somehow became even more iconic.

Only three families have ever owned this mansion. Just three. That sense of continuity and care is felt the moment you walk in. The current stewards, the Levin family, have restored Woodbine to her full glory with the most loving attention to detail—every crystal chandelier (yes, original), mirror, and vintage fireplace has been brought back to life and is the perfect backdrop for your day.

Built-In Beauty

If you're the kind of couple who swoons over a vintage spiral staircase, who imagines getting ready in a room with century-old mirrors and dancing under chandeliers that once lit the same halls a hundred years ago—you won’t have to lift a finger. The décor is already perfect. Which means: less stress, less spend, and more time to actually be present and enjoy your day.

And for my fellow texture-lovers—yes, the crown moulding is everything.

Garden Dreams Come True

Set on its own city block, Woodbine is surrounded by lush, fragrant gardens. The magnolia trees bloom with massive creamy-white flowers in spring. The side yard trellis drips with purple wisteria in March and April (it smells like magic), and the garden is dotted with white roses and shaded by old elm and pecan trees. You truly feel like you’re in a secret world, hidden right in the heart of Round Rock — only a short drive from downtown Austin.

Most of the grounds are lined with super realistic turf (aka no mud, no heel-sinking panic). So you can stroll the garden in your best shoes and trust that they’ll stay clean for portraits.

The People Make It Even Better

Maddy and Julie are the kind of people who genuinely care. They’re warm, welcoming, and endlessly helpful. Whether it’s guiding you through planning logistics or helping your vision come to life, they’re there with the kind of energy you want around on your wedding day.

If you’re drawn to places with soul, to moments that feel cinematic, to spaces that are already infused with love and legacy—Woodbine Mansion is your venue.

It’s romantic. It’s timeless. It’s a literal dream.
And I can’t wait to shoot (and celebrate!) more love stories here.
